At UFC London’s lightweight event, Paddy sensationally submitted Jordan Leavitt in the second round. Pimblett, 27, of a close battle, trapped Leavitt in a rear-naked choke, setting off celebrations inside the 02 Arena. After losing a buddy to suicide earlier this week, Liverpool’s Pimblett used his post-fight interview to promote mental health.
In a women’s flyweight match earlier that evening, McCann defeated Hannah Goldy via first-round TKO to make it three victories in a row for the Liverpudlian. When the fan favourite made contact with Goldy with the identical move she used to knockout Luana Carolina in March, she had threatened to replicate the feat.
Drake reveals a massive $2.3 million wager on the UFC London fights between Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann
Drake, a Canadian, proved this point on Saturday morning by making his wagering slip public before the game. The 35-year-old has staked $2,296,211.30 (£1,912,792.23) on Pimblett and McCann’s triumph. If his bet succeeds, he will be paid $3,723,077 (£3,101,401.33). The only admirer the two will have in the Octagon will be Drake.
After betting on Paddy and Molly to triumph in their respective matches at UFC London on Saturday night, he has now won a total of $3.7 million (£3.1 million). In his match, Pimblett defeated Jordan Leavitt, and McCann defeated Hannah Goldy. Drake was without a doubt the pair’s biggest fan when they entered the Octagon.
