Ilia Topuria is one of the most talented young fighters in the UFC. The Georgian-born fighter is known for his knockout power and also his grappling prowess. His 6-0 run in the UFC has got him a title shot against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298.

Recently, a video surfaced of Topuria punching a fan. The fan asked Topuria to fire a body shot at him which Topuria happily obliged. The fan fell to the ground and was in pain. In the video, the fan was significantly taller than Topuria which made Topuria look like a child.

Topuria recently defeated Josh Emmet in a fight which headlined UFC on ABC 5. The win was so dominant that one of the scorecards read 50-42. Before the victory, he fought the then-undefeated Bryce Mitchell and won via submission. It all culminated in Topuria getting a shot at long-reigning featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski.

The pair was initially rumored to fight at UFC 297. However, Volkanovski took a fight on short notice at UFC 294 against Islam Makhachev. Charles Oliveira suffered a nasty cut and Volkanovski replaced him on 12 days notice. Mateusz Gamrot was the backup fighter for the event. However, the UFC went with Volkanovski. This is after Dustin Poirier also hinted at his interest in replacing Oliveira.
