“Might break his tailbone” – Fans and pros concerned about Chris Barnett for his extremely entertaining yet risky celebration
Chris Barnett
Chris Barnett fought Jake Collier on the main card of UFC 279 in a heavyweight bout and registered his 23rd professional win. The 36-year-old made his UFC debut in 2021 and was struggling to remain constant with his performance. Coming into the fight, Barnett had plans to bounce back from his last loss and he did that in style.
The first round wasn’t good for Barnett as he took a lot of punishment from Collier however, in the second round Barnett shocked the arena with a spinning back kick which was enough to drop Collier and take a win.
After the fight, the fighter was extremely excited and happy and gave one of the most positive post-fight interviews in recent times.
“Yo, they gonna say heavyweights, we gonna be out here throwing, we gonna be out here doing it,” said Barnett while talking to Joe Rogan. “Let me tell you right now, me and dudes like Jake, that’s what we do. That’s why we’re in this. We’re signed to the best organisation in the world, UFC. That’s what we are, that’s what we do. We come out here for y’all, and I love it! Thank you for the love and everything. This means the world to me, this means the world to me! I love you for real, I love you from the bottom of my heart, from the bottom of it. Thank you.”
Barnett is a true entertainer and didn’t lose any opportunity to leave his marks inside the ring and on the fans who came to see him.
