UFC 290 was an event that will be remembered in the history books as one of the greatest MMA events. The event truly set a bar too high for future events. The event featured five first-round finishes and an array of entertaining fights. It also featured UFC legend Robbie Lawler retiring from the fighting business after his impressive first-round knockout over Niko Price.
The next event lined up is the Women’s bantamweight clash between UFC veteran Holly Holm and Mayra Bueno Silva. But the event brings a disappointing stat along with it, fans will have to wait for eight fights before they can see a fighter that is coming off a win in the UFC. Fans would be expecting an exciting event from UFC and this event can prove to be one as many fighters are coming off a loss and will be hungry to prove themselves again.
The event will have a very entertaining main event as it features the return of former bantamweight champion and UFC veteran Holly Holm against the rising prospect Mayra Bueno Silva who is on a 3-fight win streak. Silva will have to be prepared as even though Holm is 41 years old she still has more experience and better striking proficiency.
Holm is one of the most well-known women fighters in the MMA community. One of her most notable feats is when she ended Ronda Rousey’s dominant winning streak and handed her very first loss in the sport. She also challenged Germaine de Randamie for the women’s featherweight championship but had a controversial loss against her.
