“Thinks he’s Prime McGregor” – Fans DESTROY Belal Muhammad for attacking Leon Edwards for not ‘finishing fights’

Belal Muhammad was on the line to fight for the title. Recently, he weighed in as the backup fighter for UFC 296, headlined by Leon Edwards vs. Colby Covington. Although Edwards won, Muhammad wasn’t impressed by his performance. Now, he criticized ‘Rocky’ for his finishing ability.

In a recent interview, Belal Muhammad went after the champion Leon Edwards to critique his finish rate in the UFC. He claimed ‘Rocky’ subdued to the mentality a win was enough than pushing for the finish. As such, he mentioned Edwards’ previous opponents like Donald Cerrone, Rafael dos Anjos, and Nate Diaz, who were all originally lightweights and made a mockery for not finishing them. He's (Leon Edwards) comfortable with just settling for the win. I think he's at that point now, where it's like, I just want to do enough to win. I don't care about nothing else... We see this in other fights. You didn't finish Nate Diaz. You didn't finish Donald Cerrone. You didn't finish RDA. All these guys are 55-ers, lightweights...You had one finish in how many fights?

Further, Belal Muhammad condemned Leon Edwards for falsely promoting himself over one ‘head-shot’ knockout win. ‘Remember the name’ referred to Edwards’ finish over Kamaru Usman. As such, ‘Rocky’ had only two finishes in his last ten fights. Also, there was some truth to Muhammad’s claim, as Edwards played it safe against Colby Covington in his recent title defense.

Belal Muhammad and Leon Edwards earlier fought in 2021. But, the fight ended in a no-contest after ‘Rocky’ unintentionally poked Muhammad’s eye. Now, Belal put up a nine-fight unbeaten streak to earn his right as the title challenger. As such, a rematch between them could be booked for next year.

Leon Edwards won his fight against Colby Covington in UFC 296 by dominating the fight. As such, he earned a unanimous decision win. However, the performance was underwhelming, as neither the champion nor the challenger pushed the pace or looked for a finish. Now, Belal Muhammad critiqued Edwards’ finishing ability and mocked him for having one finish over many fights.
