For the second time in a year, the UFC light heavyweight title has been vacated by the champion after suffering an injury. The reigning champion Jamahal Hill has recently announced that he will not remain the champion in the future and has vacated his title.  According to his video on his YouTube channel, Hill has torn his Achilles tendon and will go through surgery. This whole process will take a lot of time and he won’t be able to be active due to that. The one fighter who could really relate to Hill’s situation is none other than the former light heavyweight champion, Jiri Prochazka.

The Czech took to Twitter to show his disappointment in the situation and mentioned that he wanted to fight Hill.  Prochazka explained that he respected Hill’s decision to relinquish the title and asked who will be the next in line for the title match-up.

Prochazka is looking forward to the upcoming fight between Alex Pereira and Jan Blachowicz as the winner might fight him for the vacant title.

After Jiri Prochazka made that tweet, Jamahal Hill was eager to reply and revealed that he will be waiting in order to fight Prochazka in the future. The mutual respect between both the fighters is massive however, the light heavyweight division will definitely go through a lot of changes.

Many fans suggested that Alex Pereira fighting for the light heavyweight title would be highly anticipated. While many trolled Jiri for not naming Ankalaev in the list of fighters in his latest tweet.

As Jiri Prochazka mentioned Alex Pereira vs Jan Blachowicz might be the decider of who gets the title shot next. Blachowicz is a top contender and is on a winning streak. On the other hand, Pereira will make his light heavyweight debut at UFC 291. 

UFC has yet to announce anything however, it does make sense that the winner fights Prochazka for the vacant title. If Blachowicz wins the fight, it will be a chance to take back the belt that he lost to Glover Teixeira. Pereira at the same time is someone who can’t be taken lightly given his vicious knockout power.
