UFC 291 is one of the most stacked and violent cards of the year. With the main event being headlined by Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje many are looking forward to a violent card. However, this time around UFC President Dana White might not be a part of this event. Instead, UFC color commentator Jon Anik might host the event.
Dana White’s absence from any event is a very rare occurrence. The UFC President has not been a part of the post-fight press conference several times. However, he is present during the promotions and the live event hosting fans and keeping a keen watch on all the fights. This time around things seem to be different. Instead of White, UFC color commentator Jon Anik was seen hosting the press conference for UFC 291.
Dana White is currently on vacation in Italy. This prevented him from being a part of UFC 291 and White might not even be present for the event. Considering the card has a lot of hype built around it, Dana’s absence has raised a lot of questions. Jon Anik will be taking over the broadcasting duties and most probably look after the event.
With a surprising turn of events from UFC, fans question if Dana White is priming Jon Anik to take over the role of president after he retires. Regardless, fight fans are not at all unhappy with the recent developments.
UFC Fans predict Dana White may soon quit the role of President, Jon Anik next?
UFC President Dana White’s absence is raising several questions among the fans. Dana White rarely misses attending UFC events and given his absence from UFC 291 press conference was a big deal. The card is one of the biggest events this year with several electric fights. UFC 291 will be headlined by Dustin Poirier vs Justin Gaethje for the BMF title.
It will also feature a title elimination fight between Jan Blachowicz and Alex Pereira for the co-main. Apart from that the event will also feature fights from fan-favorite fighters like Tony Ferguson, Kevin Holland, Stephen Thompson and more. However, since Dana White is vacationing in Italy, he won’t be present for the event. Instead, a long-time color commentator will take over the hosting duties.
This change has fans wondering if Dana White will soon resign from the post of President and is preparing Jon Anik to take up his role. ” Future President of UFC, can’t complain,” tweeted a fan. With Anik possibly looking over the whole event fight fans seem to be really excited. They trust in Anik’s capability and have already hailed him as the future UFC President.
