The Korean Zombie hangs up his MMA gloves after going into battle with Max Holloway at UFC Singapore. Holloway and Sung Jung were responsible for the main event bout at the UFC’s return to Singapore after a long time. As expected, it turned out to be the last fight of the legendary Korean Zombie’s MMA career. 

Both fighters delivered a classic performance, engaging in a fierce battle from the beginning to its conclusion. In the third round, this got even more interesting when they both abandoned defense and began exchanging powerful punches.

Holloway managed to deliver a devastating right-hand punch that abruptly turned “The Korean Zombie” and caused him to fall to the mat, forcing the referee to intervene and halt the match. This decisive moment occurred a mere 23 seconds into the third round. Afterward, Holloway showed his respect toward Jung, helped him get back on his feet, and raised his hand victoriously in front of an enthusiastic crowd in Singapore.

Give it up for ‘Korean Zombie,’ this guy’s a f****** legend!” Holloway shouted. “He’s ‘The Korean Zombie’ for a reason,” said Holloway. After that, Zombie finally announced that he won’t be fighting anymore and wanted to retire from the sport.

After losing the fight against Max Holloway, it was clear that Sung Jung had no more eagerness to continue fighting. In the post-fight interview. He said, “I’m going to stop fighting” Jung said. “I’ve always aimed to become a champion when I first started the sport. I’m not here to be ranked third, fourth or fifth…I don’t think I have the opportunity anymore. I think I’m going to stop fighting.”

‘Korean Zombie’ throughout his career has made a lot of fans through his fighting style and personality, and his retirement was something that hit the MMA fans pretty hard.

After the announcement, Sung Jung was in tears and fell on the octagon floor while his iconic music started playing in the background. According to many fight fans, it was the perfect ending to an extraordinary fighting career.
