Good news for fighting fans: UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman will be making his comeback soon. It has been confirmed that the UFC’s first-ever heavyweight champion will be competing in the boxing ring. It will be the debut match for the inaugural UFC heavyweight title holder on October 14, 2023. Unfortunately, this match will be over in under six minutes for Coleman.

The opponent for the UFC Hall of Famer has yet to be selected for three two-minute rounds. Mark Coleman, 58, earlier announced that he would be making his comeback after his retirement at the age of 48. This time, fans may not see him in the cage but in the boxing ring, as it will also be his debut. This event will be featured on Fite TV, as per the sources.

On one of his social media accounts, the UFC Hall of Famer made this announcement: “Big news, I just signed a contract with celebrity boxing.” In the video, Mark also confirmed that the officials are currently working on the rules. But before this, there was also the rumor that Coleman would be making his debut in slap-fighting. The opponent they tried for a slap-fight was fellow former UFC title holder, Tim Sylvia.

Apparently, Sylvia was not interested in this matchup, which led Coleman to the boxing ring. At UFC 109, Mark had his last match as a professional mixed martial artist. In that fight, UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture fought the first UFC heavyweight champion. It was also the first time two UFC Hall of Famers fought against each other in the cage.

Being the first title holder, Coleman never stayed away from MMA. It’s been a decade since he officially announced his retirement. After his retirement, he has seen coaching and cornering UFC welterweight fighter Matt Brown. Now that the video of Mark Coleman has caught the attention of fight fans, they are not ready to see the 58-year-old fight again. One of the fans directly said “Please Nobody Licence him” and another said, “I thought his knee almost snapped”

The age factor evidently seems to impact the performance of the former champion. Hopefully, he emerges from this new challenge relatively safe.
