UFC 287 took place this weekend inside the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. The whole card was stacked with amazing fights and one of the most anticipated ones being the welterweight bout between Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns.

Both fighters came into the fight with a loss in their last fights and a wanting to get a much-needed win at UFC 287. In the first round, both Masvidal and Burns were extremely cautious and mostly maintained distance and connected in a few exchanges. From the start of the second round, Burns dropped Masvidal and simultaneously got an amazing takedown and controlled ‘Gamebred’ on the ground throughout the round.

In the third and the final round, it was Burns who instead of going for takedowns kept the fight on the feet and connected some nasty shots on Masvidal. Even though the Miami native was getting his moments, it was the Brazilian who took the lead by delivering a conclusive takedown on Masvidal in the final minutes. After three rounds the judges scored the fight in favor of Burns who won via unanimous decision.
