UFC Hall of Famer Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov is world-renowned for his dominance in the lightweight division and his undefeated MMA record. But the decorated fighter is also famous for his humble nature and his simplistic way of living. Khabib grew up in the mountains of Dagestan, where he learned a lot about discipline and simple ways of living. A closed community in the city of Russia owns its different views on today’s Western culture. And, Khabib is proud to be a part of such a place.
In an interview with Patrick Bet-David, Khabib was asked about his opinion on the multiple genders that exist in today’s western societies. The question shooked the former champion but went on to answer the question in the simplest way possible. “The Eagle” humbly pointed out to the crowd and said, “ Here I see only men and women. There’s no in-between. I grew up in a very traditional place and I am proud of it. I’m from big mountains, and we have only two genders.“
Khabib admires his community and gives a lot of credit for his success in Dagestan. By living in the mountains he adopted a disciplined way of living which led him to be one of the greatest combat athletes in the world. His record of 29 wins and zero losses is second to none.
Khabib and many of his teammates, like current lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and Usman Nurmagomedov enjoy great success at the UFC because of their humble and disciplined nature. They follow their Islamic faith and are true to their ideologies.
