“Is he high”- Fans react to Dana White hailing Kamaru Usman as the greatest welterweight of all time

UFC president Dana White has stated that Kamaru Usman is the finest welterweight to ever compete in the organization. According to this viewpoint, Kamaru has surpassed Georges St-Pierre as MMA’s all-time finest Welterweight.

Usman has been the UFC’s welterweight champion since dethroning Tyron Woodley three years ago. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has defended his title five times during that time, defeating both Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal twice. Even Gilbert Burns has suffered defeat at the hands of Kamaru.

Kamaru is set to defend his title for the sixth time at UFC 278  against No.2 rated opponent Leon Edwards, who lost to Usman seven years ago when both fighters were new to the UFC. White regarded Usman as the finest 170lb fighter ever since the matchup was confirmed.

White’s interview has sparked the most contentious discussion that can ever occur: Who is the greatest of all time? Dana White tells The Mac Life that, “Leon Edwards is the number one guy in the world to take on Usman. He’s a super talented guy, that whole division is stacked with incredible talent. That’s why it’s undeniable that Usman is the greatest welterweight ever.”

He continues, “He’s lapping guys that are incredible fighters, this isn’t like some lacklustre division where you got Usman and everybody else, just straight killers in this division. We’ll find out that night what Edwards brings in here.”

Fans’ questions about White’s remarks have sparked a discussion on his Twitter platform. Some fans think that retired UFC great Georges St-Pierre is the greatest welterweight of all time because over the course of five years, two-time 170 lb. champion, St-Pierre defended his title against nine different opponents.
