“Khamzat owns Dagestan” – Fans’ reaction to Khabib’s noninterference between his cousin Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Khamzat Chimaev’s scuffle will have you cracking up

UFC 280 was the promotion’s marquee event for the year – with a sellout crowd of 13,000 and a card that delivered, the event will be looked back upon with much fervour going forward.
Many of the narratives that posed a question mark have now been answered. We know that Islam Makhachev is the best lightweight in the world, Aljamain Sterling deserves to hold on to the title and Sean O’Malley belongs amongst the elite.
Another storyline, that developed alongside the main event, or albeit, after it ended was that of Abubakar Nurmagomedov’s intense scrimmage with Khamzat Chimaev, which happened during the time Islam Makhachev was delivering his post-fight octagon interview, after stopping Charles Oliveira within two rounds.
What happened isn’t very clear, but the incident has been caught by multiple cameras. Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Khamzat Chimaev could weirdly, be first seen shaking hands with each other – from there chaos ensued. It looked as if either of the two said something to the other, and Chimaev swung at Nurmagomedov first.
The reason for the same is not properly known at this time.
“I love Islam but I love Khamzat a lot more” – Fans find the gaffs in the tense brawl between Khamzat Chimaev and Abubakar Nurmagomedov
Although it isn’t known what exactly sparked Chimaev to swing at Nurmagomedov, an older Instagram post by Abubakar Nurmagomedov, wherein he berates the Swede can provide some clues.

Despite the serious nature of the incident, fans found things to poke fun at – principally, the fact that Khabib Nurmagomedov watched atop the cage, during Makhachev’s speech as his cousin and Khamzat Chimaev started to trade blows.
For those who didn’t know, the reason some comments find a link between Khabib Nurmagomedov watching atop the cage and his UFC 229 fight against Conor McGregor is that after finishing the Irishman, Nurmagomedov jumped the fence and attacked his teammate Dillon Danis, leading to an almighty brawl between the two sets of teams.
Despite the banter, some comments recognized the fact that Khabib Nurmagomedov’s pacifist attitude must not have been due to a non-committal nature, but because the sheen was on Islam Makhachev after his win, and Nurmagomedov wouldn’t have wanted to steal his childhood friend’s moment under the spotlight.
