UFC Vegas 77 featured the former world champion Holly Holm taking on Mayra Bueno Silva in the main event bout. However, fans expressed disappointment due to a poorly built card. The women’s featherweight bout in the main card surprised everyone. Norma Dumont faced Chelsea Chandler in a three-round fight, and Chelsea surprised many fans with her performance.  

The featherweight fighters competed in a hotly contested bout. However, Chelsea Chandler shocked everyone by running inside the octagon at UFC Vegas 77. Norma rocked her at the beginning of the first round, and Chandler went back running, unlike anything ever before seen inside the octagon. Norma went on to win the fight via unanimous decision.

Even after getting rocked, Chandler continued to hold her own inside the octagon and lasted three whole rounds. The running that she did will forever become a meme in combat sports history. Norma was the better fighter, landing more strikes and takedowns than her opponent. It is safe to say that she is the best fighter in the women’s featherweight division.

After the retirement of Amanda Nunes, it remains to be seen if Dana White will keep the featherweight division. The division does not have rankings, unlike other divisions of the UFC. It was created for Cris Cyborg and is stale, unlike other divisions. Norma and Chelsea will likely need to move down to bantamweight if the UFC removes the division.

The main card of UFC Vegas 77 featured the featherweight bout between Norma Dumont and Chelsea Chandler. In the first minute of the bout, Norma rocked Chelsea Chandler and Chandler ran away from her opponent. Fans went on Twitter to react to the fight. Check out some of the fan reactions:

Fans had a field day on Twitter. They criticized WMMA and labeled it as the worst sequence in UFC history. Nevertheless, Chelsea Chandler did fight through the damage and completed fifteen minutes of action inside the octagon.
