Anderson “Spider” Silva is a legend in mixed martial arts. Recently, streaming platform Paramount Plus released a trailer of Anderson Silva’s biographical series. This Portuguese series consists of 5 episodes that explore Silva’s childhood, upbringing, and rise to stardom. It features Bruno Vinicius as young Silva and William Nascimento as his aged counterpart.

Anderson Silva was one of UFC’s biggest draws when the promotion grew in popularity. He was held high for his 16-fight unbeaten win streak and his record-breaking reign as the middleweight champion, which lasted 2,457 days. He holds the record to this day in the UFC. A series based on his life would interest the world of MMA. The shooting began last year, and the series will be released on 16 November, Brazil time.

The Brazilian started his martial arts journey by learning Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwondo, and Muay Thai. Soon, he became an expert in the muay-thai style of fighting, and fans loved him for his showmanship. He has competed in prestigious MMA promotions around the world, like Pride, Cage Rage, and, of course, the UFC. Later, Anderson Silva was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in July 2023.

After a disappointing losing streak, Anderson Silva retired from MMA in 2020. But, the legend continued his combat sports career in boxing. He fought Julio César Chávez Jr. in 2021 and won the fight via split decision. Later, he fought the YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, which he lost. However, with an MMA record of 34-11, Silva remains to be one of the greatest to ever step foot in the octagon.

You cannot talk about the greats of mixed martial arts without including the name Anderson Silva. That is because of the impact he created in the realm of MMA. A young boy from Sao Paulo, Brazil, battled poverty and became a legend of MMA. He is indeed an inspiration. Now, a series was made on the life of Silva and is releasing on November 16.
