The main event at UFC 257 featured a highly-anticipated rematch between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. Poirier won the fight in convincing fashion, which has come up on mainstream once again after the UFC posted a related video on McGregor’s 35th birthday.
Like most other companies, the promoters of the Ultimate Fighting Championship are keen on using social media to attract audiences to their most significant fights in recent times. One such fight was the matchup between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor at UFC 257, which involved McGregor. Poirier quickly dominated McGregor in almost every department, allowing him to finish the fight via TKO.
This fight was only the second fight in the trilogy as they squared up once again in July 2021. The first fight ended spectacularly when McGregor destroyed Poirier in under three minutes. Conor McGregor desperately needed a win against Dustin in the trilogy fight, considering his bad run in the world of MMA. The Irishman has only won a single bout since winning the lightweight championship in 2016.
Nevertheless, the trilogy fight ended underwhelmingly as McGregor sustained a devastating leg break. Unfortunately for Conor McGregor, UFC decided to promote this match on his 35th birthday on July 14th. The occurrence was most likely a coincidence unintentionally done by the UFC.
Fans shocked at UFC’s decision to post an embarrassing video of Conor McGregor on his birthday

Regardless of whether the UFC’s video upload of the fight between Poirier and McGregor was intentional, it certainly does look bad on Conor’s birthday. Fans saw this timing as an embarrassing blow to McGregor’s already deteriorating reputation off late. One fan tweeted, “It’s been a rough year for Conor McGregor,” with a crying emoticon.
