“Put Millions To Sleep” Fans troll Israel Adesanya’s statement on UFC 276 performance
Adesanya was heavily criticized for his UFC 276 performance
Israel Adesanya has had three consecutive title defenses that have ended in a decision. It’s not that MMA fans do not appreciate a good technical showing but with Izzy, many feel it has come to a point where he has to rely on range fighting even against vastly inferior strikers.
Case and point many felt the Jared Cannonier fight would be an exciting display of Adesanya’s skills, mostly because he hyped it up as such. Not that it was out of the realm of possibility either as Jared had been knocked off his feet in his two previous fights by Robert Whittaker and a wrestler in Derek Brunson.
Hence it came as no surprise when Izzy ended another Pay-Per-View on a less than stellar performance that fans immediately started venting out their frustrations.
Israel Adesanya gets trolled by fans on his initial statement after UFC 276
Today the stylebender put out a statement regarding his performance, dismissing all criticism as “Blah Blah Blah” with the caption “And Still. ” Fans however made it clear how they felt about the main event and here are some of the best reactions.
The classic, “You were so terrible, my paralysis cured to stop it” joke found a much-appreciated mention
Izzy was appreciated for putting his audience to sleep even though he failed to do the same to his opponent
This fan used stick figures masterfully to sum up recent Adesanya fights and it’s amazing
Even Izzy’s true fans had to keep it honest with him
Alex Pereira found a lot of mentions as some mythical savior of the middleweight division
Others felt pretty confident that Israel’s title reign was nearing its end.
People who paid for that main event were certainly not forgotten but were definitely trolled for doing so
Even European fans, some of whom may have to stay up as late as 4:00 am to catch the entire PPV were also given a mention
Even the flashiness of his walkout was criticized in hindsight
Although, a much-appreciated mention of Izzy finally breaking the “Drake Curse” in MMA was also put out.
All in all most fans had a good nights sleep, unfortunately, some started during the main event itself
Who do you think should be next for Israel Adesanya? Will Alex Pereira’s experience fighting him in kickboxing translate well when they inevitably face off in MMA?
