Jon Anik recently made the headlines when he exposed the hatred he received from a section of the MMA community. However, he let his emotional state take over and called the MMA fans ‘lowest common denominator,’ disrespecting them. This received a slamming response from the former middleweight champion Sean Strickland. Now, Strickland received a taste of his own medicine from the controversial figure Dillon Danis.

Dillon Danis replied to Sean Strickland’s tweet and called him out for his hypocrisy. As such, he mentioned when Strickland threatened to stab his latest opponent, Dricus Du Plessis, for taunting him. By this, he also extended his support to Jon Anik. Here is what he said:

Coming from the guy who cried and threatened murder because someone made fun of you.

For some context, Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plessis headlined UFC 297, with the latter coming out as the victor via split decision. Many criticized the judges ‘ scorecard since it was a close fight, and most MMA fans sided alongside Strickland. Even UFC CEO Dana White felt Strickland won the fight. On the opposite, Jon Anik claimed ‘Stillknocks’ won it fairly. This instigated the MMA fans to fire shots at him on his social platforms, distressing him.

With polarising views on the internet, some spread hatred towards Jon Anik’s comments while some supported him, like Dillon Danis. Nonetheless, it affected Anik; he even contemplated retirement and moving on to a different sport. But, recently, he issued an apology to the fans and claimed he was in the wrong. As such, he wanted to continue his job in MMA and looked excited for the upcoming PPV event, UFC 298.

Sean Strickland first critiqued Jon Anik’s views about the MMA fans and pointed out that they were the reason for his livelihood. This tweet received Dillon Danis’s attention, bringing up Strickland’s sensitivity to taunts from Dricus Du Plessis. As such, this mockery from Danis garnered huge reactions from the fans.
