In a recent MMA Hour episode, Ariel Helwani discussed the possible exit of Zabit from the sport of fighting. The fighter had been sidelined from fighting for more than three years and according to Helwani, the Makhachkala fighter had become very involved in religion which led to the dilemma of him continuing his fighting career.

Zabit has a record of 18-1 in his professional MMA career. It is heartbreaking that the fighting world will never know where Zabit’s potential would lead him in the UFC. In his 6 fights inside the UFC octagon, Magomedsharipov won the performance of the night bonus four times. “From what I was told, he had almost like this moral religious dilemma that he was dealing with,” said Helwani about Zabit’s exit from fighting.
