Footwork outside the octagon! When UFC legend Jose Aldo stunned Neymar Jr on the soccer field
Jose Aldo Neymar Jr
Neymar Jr. was once taken by surprise on the football field by Jose Aldo. The former UFC champion took a page out of Neymar Jr books when he performed a flawless “rainbow flick” over his opponent.
Back in 2014, Neymar Jr. and Aldo met at a charity game for “Football Against Hunger” in Brazil. Along with other local and national celebrities, the two Brazilian stars played on opposing sides. In footage from the game, Jose Aldo is seen receiving the ball on his own half. Then using one of Neymar’s famous moves against him, and dribbling away in style. Although Neymar is renowned for showcasing his tremendous skills during games, the Paris Saint-Germain star this time received a taste of his own medicine. Neymar was astounded by Jose Aldo’s flawless technique and lightning-fast feet as he watched in admiration.
Jose Aldo is one of the most accomplished featherweights in history. In fact, some people rank him as one of the best fighters to have graced the Octagon. In September of 2022, Aldo declared his retirement after losing his final match to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 278 by a unanimous decision. He won the featherweight championship twice in his career. He also holds the record for the most title defenses in the featherweight division.
When Neymar Jr hired a UFC fighter as a bodyguard
Back in 2017, Neymar made a record-breaking transfer from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain for $263 million. This move generated a lot of heat from his fans who wanted the Brazilian to stay in Barcelona.
Following his controversial transfer, he hired then-UFC fighter Nordine Taleb as his personal bodyguard. Nordine Taleb is a French Canadian MMA fighter. He has competed in a total of 22 professional MMA bouts in his career winning 15 of them and losing 7. Nordine Taleb would have made himself a load of cash by this side job of protecting one of the finest soccer players in the world.
Nordine competed in UFC from 2014 to 2019. Before that, he was signed with Bellator for a period of one year. He made his last appearance inside the Octagon against Muslim Salikhov at UFC 242 when he got knocked out by an opponent in the first round. Currently, he is signed to ARES FC where he competes as a welterweight.
