Former UFC fighter John Howard is now engaged in a critical battle for justice for his children. However, he is facing threats from gang members engaged in gun violence. This challenge follows his commitment to advocating for his children’s gun violence victimhood. Known for his toughness in the UFC, Howard confronts a different and more personal fight for his family’s safety and security.

Howard’s fight against gun violence started when his daughter Julianna and son Johan were injured as collateral damage due to gang shootings. The incident deeply affected the Howard family. This has motivated John to seek justice and prevent similar tragedies. His son Johan is out of the hospital while his daughter is still in critical condition. She got shot in the head. A heartbroken Howard posted on Instagram with the caption:

Heartbroken and enraged, my 15-year-old daughter, Juliana, and her brother Johan fell victim to gun violence in Franklin Field. The bullet lodged in Juliana's head is a haunting reminder, a cruel sentence she'll carry for life................This is a call to action. Share her story. Stand with us on December 1 at Boston Municipal Court. Let's not just demand justice; let's demand an end to the violence that threatens our communities....

The incident resulted in Howard becoming more involved in gun violence prevention. However, he faced increasing threats from gangs related to the case. Despite the threats, he remains committed to his cause. Moreover, he is advocating for gun control. Howard’s situation has gained support from his community and others on social media.

John Howard voiced support for Cain Velasquez when Velasquez shot at his child’s abuser

John Howard is now a father of a daughter who is a victim of gun violence. However, he supported Cain Velasquez, the former UFC heavyweight champion, when he shot at his child’s abuser. His attack did not reach the target but injured the stepfather of the abuser. Many, including Daniel Cormier, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Dana White, to name a few, empathized with Velasquez during the ensuing legal proceedings.

John Howard was also among those who voiced his support for Velasquez. He posted a picture of Velasquez on his Instagram with the caption:

Velasquez was arrested for his actions and has since been released on bail. The former champion now coaches at American Kickboxing Academy and was seen training Usman Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, to name a few. Velasquez rose to prominence in the UFC by defeating Brock Lesnar at UFC 121 to win the heavyweight title.
