Khamzat Chaimaev finally makes his comeback as he prepares to take on Paulo Costa at UFC 294. Chimaev was out for almost a year and during that time was linked with various fighters however, nothing materialized until now.

Daniel Cormier recently, in his YouTube channel made a video where he talked about Chimaev’s eligibility to fight for the middleweight title. According to DC, if Chimaev beats Costa, he should be in the line for the next title shot.

He said: “If he beats Paulo Costa, Khamzat Chimaev will have earned himself a title fight at 185 pounds. And I don’t think anyone can disagree with that. I don’t believe that beating Gilbert Burns, going up, and now beating Paulo Costa doesn’t get you a championship opportunity. It makes you the No. 1 contender between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis.”

DC explained that Chimaev has fought some tough challenges and given the list of contenders in the middleweight division, Chimaev should fight the winner of Israel Adesanya vs Dricus Du Plessis.

Recently, Paulo Costa took to his social media to share a captivating clip showcasing his intense training inside his gym. As he flexed his formidable muscles and demonstrated his unwavering dedication, Costa confidently asserted his intentions to obliterate the Chechen Wolf.

“Gourmet Chen Chen doesn’t stand a chance—absolutely zero! I’m going to dismantle him, leaving nothing but a mere shadow. Chechnya, get ready to witness a dead man walking. I’m coming to your home, and you won’t know what hit you, my friend. Every day, without a break, I’m grinding hard in training. Look into my eyes, Gourmet Chen Chen, for I am the man who will put an end to you.”

Costa has a clear plan in mind, focusing solely on his training, ensuring not a single day goes to waste as he prepares himself relentlessly for the colossal showdown scheduled for October.
