Dana White has a history of downplaying fighters who had problems with him. Fighters like Brendan Schaub and Francis Ngannou come to mind when considering the list of fighters having beef with White. Ngannou left the UFC after disagreeing on a new contract, and White has taken multiple shots at the Cameroonian fighter since. Dana White used the term “gimmick” to describe Francis Ngannou’s potential boxing bout with professional boxers.

In a new controversy, a social media post highlighted Tafon Nchukwi as the first Cameroonian fighter in the UFC. Fans blasted Dana White for trying to remove Ngannou’s legacy from the UFC. Despite having all the reasons to lash out, Ngannou chose to dispel the narrative in a humble manner. He went on X to address the controversy. Francis Ngannou wrote, “Thierry Sokoudjou was the first Cameroonian in the UFC. I was second. Don’t let them lie and erase history.”

Thierry Sokoudjou rose to fame in 2007 when he shockingly defeated Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ricardo Arona. Nogueira and Arona were two of the best light heavyweight fighters on the PRIDE roster, and Sokoudjou defeated them in less than two minutes. However, his early success did not translate when he came to the UFC in late 2007. He fought three times in the UFC win a 1-2 record. He retired a decade later with a career record of 19 wins and 18 losses.

It does not look like Dana White and the UFC will not stop defaming Francis Ngannou anytime soon. Dana White has a history of taking shots at individuals who beefed with him. In recent months, he accused Ngannou of taking the easy way out by refusing to fight Jon Jones.
