Francis Ngannou is one of the baddest men on the planet. He is currently the UFC Heavyweight champion after defeating Stipe Miocic at UFC 260. Francis has been one of the hardest hitters in the UFC and he has knocked out almost everyone he fought. Out of his 12 victories in UFC, 10 have been from Knockouts and this shows how dangerous Francis can be in the Octagon. His current MMA record is 17 wins and 3 losses.
While he may be known as the baddest man on the planet, even Francis is at risk of getting injured in an environment like the octagon. The sport requires extreme determination along with rigorous training routines in order to become the best in the sport.
Francis defended his title against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270, where he won the fight by unanimous decision. Francis showed versatility in his game and outmatched a technical fighter like Ciryl by using his grappling skills against Ciryl. The judges scored the fight 46 – 49, 47 – 48, and 47 – 48 in the favor of Francis.

While the fight was amazing, it was later revealed by Francis in the post-fight interview that he had suffered a knee injury during his fight camp for UFC 270. Francis said, “Like three weeks ago, I hurt my knee, tore my MCL completely. Hurt my ACL and all that stuff.”

After his knee injury in his training camp for UFC 270, Francis has shared his recovery process, and he reveals how his knee injury recovering. Francis suffered a knee injury before his fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 274 but he still defended his title against Ciryl.
Francis went through knee surgery after his fight and the surgery was handled by surgeons who have previously worked with high-profile athletes like Conor McGregor and Georges St-Pierre. The surgery was a success, and the fighter was expected to stay out of action for some time.
Sharing his rehab journey after the surgery, Francis has posted a video about the rehabilitation process and he is seen working out with doctors to get back into his original state. Francis talked about the surgery and said: “It doesn’t feel good yet, but it looks good. They took the particular tendon on my knee in the front and then put some screw on my Femur and someone on the Tibia, then on the inside they did the MCL for construction.”
According to his manager, Francis is expected to stay out of action for 9-10 months.
