Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones got over a Twitter altercation regarding Israel Adesanya. Adesanya recently defended his UFC middleweight title against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276. It was Izzy’s fifth title defence and Cannonier wasn’t able to do anything after all that pre-fight trash talking. However, the major insight of the fight was it was extremely boring.
Both the fighters stuck to their game plan and didn’t do much in order to elevate the action. Cannonier was failing to get his hands on Izzy and Adesanya didn’t take any unnecessary chances. After the fight, many fight fans criticized Adesanya for not looking for knockouts and not being entertaining.
A similar remark was given by former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones as the fighter made fun of Adesanya. After that, Francis Ngannou stepped up for Izzy and replied back to Jones. In his tweet, Ngannou mentioned that Jones has been out of the sport and on the other hand, Izzy has defended his title multiple times.
Heated Twitter exchanges between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou
It took Jones some time but the fighter replied back to Ngannou over his tweet. Jones hilariously mentioned that Ngannou is defending Adesanya and it’s very cute. Jones explained that he can stay away from the sport for a few more years and still nobody will be able to break his records. He wrote :
” look at Francis over there defending Elsa, how cute. I could take off two more years and you guys work combined won’t match what I’ve done in that octagon. #Facts.”
Ngannou, while responding to Jones’ claims, revealed that he thinks Jones is a great champion but doesn’t act like that. The French-Cameroonian advised Jones to respect other fighters as it doesn’t affect him in any way. In the end, Ngannou informed Jones to stay put as his time will come in future.
” You’re definitely a hell of a Champiom but you need to act like one. Its ok to be respectful for others achievements bro, it doesn’t take anything out of your success. Sit tight, you’ll get your turn. Sincerely, The KING ? Facts #3kings,” wrote Ngannou.
This whole incident on twitter is just making the potential heavyweight contest between Ngannou and Jones much more interesting. It will be amazing to see them fight inside the octagon in future.
