Francis Ngannou was “NOT IMPRESSED” by Ciryl Gane’s ELECTRIC fight against Tai Tuivasa

Ciryl Gane and Francis Ngannou
Looks like Francis Ngannou is unfazed by his former rival, Ciryl Gane’s performance against Tai Tuivasa this past weekend. The heavyweight champion says he didn’t witness anything too special.
To be fair, Francis Ngannou is not a stranger to knockouts. The knockout king has some of the most brutal knockouts in UFC history and it is very hard to show him something that he’s either not seen or not been a part of. Ciryl Gane might have stunned the entire world with his finish against Tai Tuivasa this past weekend at UFC Paris but that was not enough to rattle the heavyweight champion.
Ngannou has become very good with his English language and is now able to express things exactly how he feels. The Cameroonian fighter channeled his inner Georges St Pierre at the ESPN+ Post fight show when asked about his creation of the Gane vsTuivasa fight which was held at the Accor Arena in Paris, France. Ngannou was not too surprised with the result of the fight as he had already predicted his former training partner, Gane to go home with the winning bonus.
However, even Ngannou did not expect the Frenchman to knock out the Aussie heavyweight in the main event of the last Fight Night. Ngannou admits that the fight was “electric” and there were “some good actions”. Nothing that he hasn’t seen before though. Congrats, Gane on your win last night but the champion of your division is still not impressed with what he saw.
Francis Ngannou says being the champ makes it hard to be impressed

Francis’s last matchup in the UFC was against this past weekend’s star, Ciryl. Ngannou surprised everyone by outclassing Gane in a matchup where critics believed the champ’s only way of winning was by knockout. At the ESPN+ Post-fight show, Ngannou said, “The fight was very electric. There were some good actions in the fight,” about Gane vs Tuivasa.
According to Ngannou, the fight between Tuivasa and Gane was nothing more than a “strategic, technical type of fight.” After beating Gane in the way he did, Ngannou can praise his rival only so much. “I know he’s a great fighter. It’s hard to respond to that question for the guy that I beat,” said Ngannou. [h/t MMA Junkie]
“He’s here for a reason. I fought him for a reason because he was probably the No. 1 contender. Yes, he’s good, but I’m the champ. Yeah, so it’s really hard to be impressed,” added Ngannou in his interview. Francis is not afraid to say it like it is.
Francis is still out due to injury and his return is uncertain adding to this there is no clear update from either the fighter or the UFC on his contract issues. Ciryl wants Ngannou again but it looks like it’s going to take more than a knockout to impress the champ.
