GSP Named 7 fighters to be on his mount Rushmore of MMA
Georges St Pierre doesn’t mind giving his colleagues such as Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov Or Jon Jones the props they deserve even if it comes at the cost of his own legacy. The former two-division champion has a reputation as one of the nicest fighters outside the cage doors and that was evident at the UFC Paris media day scrum he attended.
Determining a consensus GOAT (Greatest of All Time) is difficult in any sport let alone one with as many variables as MMA. Add this to the fact that the sport is younger than half it’s fan base and we just can’t tell if we have even seen the final evolution of the sport yet.
As someone who’s been at the top during the crucial moments the sport was in it’s evolutionary phase, GSP is as good an authority as any to determine who the GOAT is. Even if that got difficult GSP was at least very comfortable in naming his mount Rushmore of MMA.

As a promotional event for the UFC’s upcoming fight night in their return to Paris, GSP, who’s fluent in both English and French was bought in as an ambassador for the sport to bridge the gap and help the French Audience connect with the product better.
During the half and hour long Q&A session, GSP answered questions about his health, his will to return to the sport among many other things. One question he paid a lot of attention to while answering was a fan who asked about Royce Gracie and his opinion on who the top 4 GOATs in MMA should be.
“I would put Royce in there because he did stuff in the beginning that no one had done before”, said GSP as he openly started off by saying he will have to CHEAT while answering the question. “I would put Amanda Nunes, even though she is not retired yet”, he said as he called her the greatest female fighter to ever live.
GSP then gave props to Khabib for being untouchable throughout his career while he lauded McGregor for bringing the sport to new heights. Finally he mentioned Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, and Demetrious Johnson for their career-spanning consistent performances
GSP’s entire answer had the crowd very pleased with the fan who asked the question also reminding the former Welterweight Champion that he too will always have his place on that list. What do you think of GSP’s MMA Mount Rushmore? Let us know!
