Gilbert Burns was already known as one of the biggest welterweights in the division. He is one of the few fighters who actually landed and stunned the champion, Kamaru Usman, in the fight. But Burns made headlines when he took on the hype train Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 273. The fight was turned into a war as both fighters went all out. Although Burns lost the fight via split decision he won many new fans who are super excited to see him fight next.

Burns proved that he is very entertaining and will not back out from nasty slugfests with any opponent. It was obvious for UFC to give the fighter a new and upgraded deal as Burns is now turning out to be a major draw in the division.

Burns recently took to Twitter

in order to share the news about his new UFC contract among his fans and followers.

In the tweet, ‘Durinho’ revealed that he just signed a new deal with the UFC consisting of multiple fights. The Brazilian wholeheartedly thanked Dana White and Sean Shelby for this new contract and is now excited for his next octagon appearance. Burns addressed the fact that people are talking bad about UFC a lot but without the promotion, he wouldn’t have been successful. Burns also thanked his manager, Ali Abdelaziz for making the whole process efficient. He wrote :

“I just signed a new multi-fight deal with the UFC. Thanks @danawhite and @seanshelby for taking care of me. Just waiting for the next opponent. A lot of people talking ? abt the @ufc but without the UFC and Dana I would not be here! Thanks my brother @AliAbdelaziz00 the best!.”

Abdelaziz also replied back to Burns with a tweet in which he congratulated the fighter and mentioned that Burns deserves this.

Burns is one of those fighters who are ready to fight anyone but it’s obvious for him to be a little choosy after his last fight. There is no news regarding the fighter’s next fight but it will surely be a great one.
