Cowboy Donald Cerrone is possibly one of the most entertaining fighters to enter the octagon. He fought with anyone thrown at him throughout his decade-long career. So, it’s not totally unreasonable to believe fans saved the dates for his fights. With 18 post-fight bonuses, which is the most in UFC, Cerrone has made a ton of money throughout his career. With making so much money, one has to assume he spends lavishly. However, there was a time UFC’s resident Cowboy had an addiction to gambling and strippers.

After UFC 137, which is pretty early in his career, Cerrone scored a huge victory over Dennis Siver. This was the time when Donald Cerrone was relatively new to UFC. He was going through everyone and wanted to fight everybody in any division. However in the post-fight interview when asked what he plans to do after the win Donald stated that he was simply going to chill at lake Mead. This question was followed up by “so you’re not gonna gamble tonight?” Cerrone with a straight face answered I don’t gamble.

This was followed up with “I have a gambling and stripper addiction, so I stay away from them”. A smart answer and an even smarter move from Cowboy. How did Cowboy develop his addictions, and how much did he spend on them is still unknown. But if someone making bank while fighting has to admit to this, then the figure must be a decent amount.

Cowboy has since racked up 36 career wins and 23 wins in the UFC. Cerrone retired after suffering a loss against Jim Miller and lives his cowboy life at his ranch in New Mexico. Donald Cerrone is to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame this summer.

UFC’s resident Cowboy started his MMA career in 2005. From there on he fought anybody and everybody thrown at him. Due to his sheer willingness to fight anybody, Dana White stated him as one of the best lightweights in UFC history. Throughout his career, he garnered 36 victories in 55 fights,10 by knockout and 15 by submission. Cerrone also has a total of 18 post-fight bonuses which is the most in the UFC. Now, no statistic can tell you how entertaining a fighter is to watch but 18 post-fight bonuses mean something.

Cerrone retired on July 2, 2022, at UFC 276 after his loss to Jim Miller. Cowboy never won a UFC title in his career. But is still considered one of the best to enter the octagon by many. This year’s UFC Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on July 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Cerrone will enter the hall as a part of the modern wing.
