Has TJ Dillashaw ever won UFC gold?

TJ Dillashaw is a trained mixed martial artist from the United States. He competes in the UFC Bantamweight division and is currently the #2 ranked fighter in the division. Dillashaw boasts an amazing MMA record of 17-4 and has won the UFC title gold on two separate occasions.

Dillashaw won his first Bantamweight championship in 2014 at UFC 173 facing Renan Barao. Dillashaw managed to knock out his opponent in the 5th round to earn him the Performance of the Night award.

His next championship gold came at UFC 217. Dillashaw was facing then-champion Cody Garbrandt and knocked out Cody in the second round to capture the Bantamweight championship for a second time. He was stripped of his championship after testing positive for recombinant human erythropoietin and was given a two-year suspension by the USADA.

TJ Dillashaw also holds for the joint record for the most title defenses for the Bantamweight championship. He would be looking forward to capturing the Bantamweight championship for the third time when he meets Aljamain Sterling at UFC 280.

The Bantamweight champion speaks on his opponents’ abuse of PED. Aljamain Sterling, the UFC bantamweight champion, has leveled some grave charges against TJ Dillashaw. Sterling claims that Dillashaw has used performance-enhancing substances to cheat throughout his UFC career.

Sterling used previous comments made by Dillashaw’s own teammates to bolster his accusation. Speaking on Sky Sports Sterling said, “I’m fighting the guy I have watched for so many years… I respect everything the guy has done, but I know he’s been cheating his entire UFC career. It’s been disclosed by his own teammates. It’s not me blowing smoke. His own teammates outed him.”

In July 2021, Dillashaw made a comeback after serving his ban and fought Cory Sandhagen in a five-round bout. The Californian won by a narrow margin in a fiercely heated match and is looking forward to getting his redemption at UFC 280.

 Sterling is presently having a fantastic run. With seven straight victories, “Funk Master” stands to considerably cement his position as the king of the bantamweight division with a victory over Dillashaw.
