Hasbulla Magomedov will have additional responsibilities at UFC 280 as he has been announced as the latest addition to Islam Makhachev’s corner. Magomedov and Makhachev have been friends for a long time and was the one who introduced Khabib Nurmagomedov to the viral sensation.

If his responsibilities as an ambassador for the UFC in Abu Dhabi weren’t enough, the 4 foot wrecking ball now will have a huge role to play in the upcoming title fight for the vacant UFC lightweight belt. The news was confirmed by Makhachev’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz. This is not the first time he’s been cage-side to support his friend either, as, at UFC 267, he was the star attraction in Abu Dhabi during Makhachev’s fight against Dan Hooker.

After Islam Makhachev’s quick victory over Hooker, Magomedov was paraded around the cage by the entire Eagles MMA- AKA team, even posing for pictures alongside the crew after their victory. He was also there to support Khamzat Chimaev and allegedly have a private meeting with Dana White himself.

While he was not busy being by his friend’s side, the 19-year-old could be seen walking all around fight Island getting hounded by professional fighters for a picture and the signature punch that follows. He also got into a scuffle cage-side at UFC 267.

Shortly after the bout between Petr Yan and Aljamain Tserling had concluded, Hasbulla Magomedov was seen having a tussle with his arch-rival and singer, Abdu Rozik.

While he doesn’t hold the title anymore for a short period, Magomedov was the youngest person under a UFC contract. Beating Mo Mokaev of the UK, his ambassador partnership with the UFC made him the youngest person to be signed by the UFC.

His record was broken a few weeks after when the UFC signed 17-year-old, Raul Rosas Jr from Dana White’s contender series. Magomedov found his first taste of fame through an MMA gym when a video of him punching and then running away from a Dagestani fighter went viral, many mistaking him to be a child.
