Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal have been involved in a rivalry that has garnered a lot of attention in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA). The two fighters were once close friends and training partners, but their relationship has taken a turn for the worse in recent years. But in addition, Colby Covington-Leon Edwards fight also lining up this summer.

Leon Edwards just defeated Kamaru Usman in a majority decision fight for the second time at UFC 286 which seems to have forced the officials to let Leon fight the second-best welterweight in the division.“If Leon wants to fight Masvidal so bad, don’t worry he can go fight him on the prelims after I destroy him this summer,” Colby said in a recent interview with Michael Bisping Podcast.

In a recent interview Burns also took a dig at Colby and said, “One hundred percent, I can steal the show and put doubt on everyone’s mind.  It all depends on the performance. If I go out there and dominate this guy and finish what Colby Covington didn’t do in this last fight, what took Kamaru (Usman) seven rounds to do? If I go out there in one or two (rounds), I think that says a lot. So we’ll see. We’re still 11 days to the fight, there’s work to do, but I’m confident that I’m going to finish Jorge Masvidal.”

Colby Covington took further shots at his rival Masvidal. He said, “Jorge is a broken man…He’s not the same fighter after I destroyed him, beat him 50-44 with a soda. Obviously, he’s had an emotional letdown. His life is unraveling. Look at obviously what he came and did. The guy, he’s done a lot of drugs and just a lot of things that have rotted his brain and his body. You could tell he’s just not the same person. I just see ‘Dilbert’ (Burns) getting an easy win.”

The rivalry between Colby Covington and Masvidal began when they both started competing in the welterweight division of the UFC. Colby Covington, known for trash-talking and controversial statements, began calling out Masvidal and accusing Masvidal of ducking tough Fights.

Since then, the two fighters have continued to trade insults and take shots at each other in interviews and on social media. However, at UFC 272 Colby Covington defeated Masvidal with complete domination following which the fighters have been at loggerheads.
