“A lot of behind the scenes”- Henry Cejudo gladly announces the release of his documentary on Netflix
Henry Cejudo
Combat sports legend Henry Cejudo has definitely did almost everything to submit himself as an important figure in martial arts history. The Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling, a victory over one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time in Demetrious Johnson, the former simultaneous UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion of the world, a successful coach, you name it Cejudo has done it all. Now, it seems a high time for someone to official put his life to visual records.
Cejudo, who last competed in April 2020 and decided to retire from the sport, is looking forward to return after 2 and a half years. Cejudo was originally in desire of having a belt at a third weight class of his career by choosing to fight in the featherweight division, against the current champion Alexander Volkanovski. However, Cejudo is now looking forward to return to fight for a title shot at the bantamweight division, whose current champion is Aljamain Sterling.
Henry Cejudo is getting Mike Tyson on board for his documentary
On the 29th episode of his podcast “The Triple C & Schmo Show” co-hosted alongside sports journalist Dave Schmulenson aka The Schmo, Cejudo talked about various things including smoking up with boxing legend Mike Tyson, meeting up with UFC authorities, previewing Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury and much more. In the midst of all this, Cejudo opened up about a documentary being made on his life that will air on Netflix once it’s all set and done.
“There’s actually a big documentary coming out with me on Netflix,” says Cejudo “So it’s another reason why I ended up coming out to California… you guys will see a lot of behind the scenes with me and Mike [Tyson] and pretty much a lot of celebrity friends for a lot of stuff that I’ve done in the sports. So I’m excited to announce that here on the Triple C and Schmo Show,” concludes Cejudo.
What do you make of a documentary on Cejudo’s life and legacy? For sure no matter how much cringe his gimmick on stage is, Cejudo has always inspired his fans by thinking big goals, working on them and eventually achieving them. In a world where the heavyweights of combat sports are given more attention, size doesn’t matter if you believe in yourself that you’re the best out there, an important page to be taken out of Cejudo’s book.
