At this point, Conor McGregor and Henry Cejudo should just star in a buddy-cop movie. The duo has been going back and forth on Twitter since McGregor landed in Cannes and resumed camp.

The majority of the exchanges come from Cejudo who constantly gives Conor advice about how to better his striking, with Conor occasionally responding with snark comments that are later deleted forever.

Conor released another footage of him hitting pads today and Coach Henry was right at it with the advice. Cejudo suggested that Conor move his hips less while throwing punches as, unlike boxing, the threat of takedown makes the movement a bad habit to develop insinuating that Conor desperately needed to learn about set-up punches.

Conor replied to him in a similar fashion, and Cejudo discussed Conor’s return and says he isn’t ready to face top-level contenders just yet. Discussing the matter on The Triple C & The Schmo Show, he said, “I like the Tony Ferguson fight for him. I think that fight is winnable for Conor. He cannot be taking these high-level competitions. He’s gonna get hurt. He’s gonna continue to keep getting hurt. I think, he goes up with Tony, I think he needs to get his feet wet. At least f****ng win, man. Win a damn fight.”

Cringe apart, Cejudo thinks Conor is hurting himself by ignoring the flaws in his game, he said, “It’s crazy because there’s a lot of flaws that he has. As good as he was in the past, there’s still a lot of flaws that he has that he’s still not fixing. So I’m still not sold on that chump.”

“Show some damn wrestling, show takedown defense. If I was Conor McGregor with all that money that you have, have somebody to live with you full time where they’re with you, they’re dissecting you, and they’re making wrestling fun. He needs to find a teacher that could really teach him. But what happens with a lot of these guys is they go too hard too early and yeah, wrestling is the toughest sport. It will break you, man,” Cejudo concluded.
