Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin cum pupil Umar Nurmagomedov once again showcased his class and elite wrestling skills as he defeated Nathan Maness at UFC on ESPN 38. Umar took down Maness three times in three rounds to dominate him on the ground throughout the fight.

Whenever a fighter comes from the hills of Dagestan, it is expected from him to show world-class wrestling skills. However, Umar not only did that but also surprised Maness with his acrobatic right leg kicks and thumped on Maness’ chest and face.

With this win Umar is now 15-0 in professional MMA. Hence, a lot of credit goes to his cousin cum coach Khabib Nurmagomedov. Umar is a member of American Kickboxing academy and has been training really hard with his cousin Khabib.

Even MMA star and former two division UFC champion Henry Cejudo complimented Khabib for the same. Cejudo took to Twitter to mention Khabib’s coaching skills.

“Coach Khabib is no joke. I see you Umar Nurmagomedov ? @TeamKhabib #UFCVegas57″ wrote triple c on his official Twitter handle.

Khabib trains with fighters of American Kickboxing academy and according to AKA’s founder Javier Mendez, Khabib has taken the responsibility himself of developing fighters’ skills at AKA. With Javier himself commenting on Khabib’s skills, it was obvious of Henry Cejudo to compliment Khabib for the same. Cejudo has also worked for Eagle FC with Khabib as an analyst. Both Cejudo and Nurmagomedov share a good bond with each other. However, whatever Cejudo has tweeted is absolutely right.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was training with Umar for his fight against Maness and was sharing updates about their camp on his Instagram. Following the victory, Umar was asked if his cousin’s legacy pressurizes him to perform better. To which Umar replied saying that it was hard for him to fight under that kind of pressure earlier in his career. But, now he is ready and enjoys it.
