Petr Yan who is coming off a title loss against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273 has taken some interest in Cejudo and challenged him for a fight on twitter.

To this, Cejudo replied back by explaining that he is ready to fight Yan but without the belt it doesn’t makes sense. Triple C advised Yan to go back to Dagestan and level up his wrestling.

“Only if you had the gold I would have loved to have buried ? You should go back to Dagestan and learned more wrestling because you got outwrestled by Division III all American. That wouldn’t be smart of you taking an Olympic champ after that lose. I’m after Gold hoe #Bendthekne,” wrote Cejudo.

After Cejudo made his plans clear, Yan responded back by explaining the truth.

According to Yan, Triple C retired because he did not want to fight the Russian and now coming back when Yan is not the champion. Yan accused Cejudo of avoiding the fight and asked him to accept the fight. He wrote :

“The truth is you retired the day I became number 1 contender and unretired on the same day I ceased to be the champion. Now you ducking me again only proving those facts.”

From the start, Cejudo has revealed that he only wants to fight for the title because he never lost it. For him to fight Yan doesn’t make sense but at the same time it’s looking hard for Cejudo to get the title shot. It will be interesting to see what will be future of the former UFC double champion.
