Henry Cejudo is one of the very two division champions in the UFC and hence considered one of the greatest of all times. He has expressed his desire to get back in the MMA game in the past few months. According to his tweets, he was quite confident about taking on Alexander Volkavnivski and Petr Yan. He believes in his ability to defeat both of them. He last fought in July of 2020 when he defended his title against Dominick Cruz.
His manager Ali Abdelaziz recently gave an update on when the former champion can return to action. Ali said Henry might be planning to return in the months of October-November. It’ll be interesting to watch who his next opponent is going to be and in which weight class. Henry can easily take on any fighter in his respective weight class. MMA fans will be super excited to watch the Bantamweight legend in action anytime soon.
Dana White explains the procedure for Henry Cejudo to get a title shot
Henry Cejudo has been calling out champions of several divisions in the organization for the past few months for a fight. This name-calling does not sit well with UFC president Dana White. Dana in an interview told exactly what Henry needs to do to get back in title contention.
In an interview with Yahoo Sports he said, “There’s a way to go about it if you really want to fight, if that’s what you really want to do, you want the Volkanovski fight. What you don’t do is – I mean, you could. You could go online and start talking to Volkanovski and calling him names and all this stuff, but what you’d really have to do is pick up the phone and call and say, ‘Hey, what’s the procedure I need to follow to get back into a fight?”
“I want to unretire and when can I get back into the USADA pool? How fast and what do I need to do?’ That’s how you get a fight.” It’ll be interesting to watch if Henry gets a title shot for his return to fighting.
