Henry Cejudo recently lost his fight with Merab Dvalishvili in a potential title eliminator at UFC 298. Before the fight, ‘Triple C’ promised retirement if he didn’t succeed. As such, Cejudo walked out of the octagon with gloves removed, hinting at retirement. While many fighters have a retirement speech in the octagon, the UFC didn’t give him the opportunity. Apparently, UFC CEO Dana White made the decision. Now, Cejudo ruled out retiring and promised to fight again soon.
Henry Cejudo addressed his future in the sport via his YouTube channel. He played a movie scene from The Wolf of Wall Street to announce he wasn’t retiring. As such, he intended to compete again sometime this year. This came as a shocker to the MMA community as the former champion was believed to retire surely.

During the post-fight press conference, Dana White spoke about the UFC denying Henry Cejudo mic time. He stated Merab Dvalishvili earned his career-best victory and disapproved of Cejudo distracting the spotlight from him. Further, he bashed Cejudo for already retiring in 2020. ‘Triple C’ retired soon after winning the second belt against Dominic Cruz at UFC 249.
After years, Henry Cejudo returned to MMA to chase more glory. However, it didn’t go as planned, and now Triple C has two losses to his name. However, he wasn’t going anywhere. The former double champion still wanted to compete and indicated he would fight later this year.

But, he has changed his mind and took back his words of retiring.

This received huge reactions from the MMA fans. Firstly, they pointed out Dana White’s decision not to hand over the mic to Henry Cejudo for his retirement speech. If it happened, this U-turn on retirement could’ve backfired majorly for Triple C. Anyway, here are some interesting fan reactions:
