How much money Joe Rogan earns from commentating in the UFC
Joe Rogan
Joe Rogan is one of the most famous personalities, not only in the MMA community but also in the entire world today. Added to his illustrious 25-year-old career as a UFC commentator and Octagon interviewer, Rogan is also a household name in the American comedy culture. But Rogan’s shoot to global fame comes to the courtesy of his podcast, deemed to be the best in the world today and titled- The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE). The podcast in itself has become an epicenter of so many massive controversies in 2022.
A dedicated student of martial arts since his youth, Rogan is a 4 time National champion in Taekwondo, a black belt in Brazilian-Jiu Jitsu as well a black belt in 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu as well. Going back to what first made him a recognizable public figure after stand-up comedy, Rogan started working as a UFC correspondent for the first time in the year 1997 for UFC 12. Throughout the years, Rogan has been the first-hand witness to the best wins and worst losses times of many great fighters such as Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Matt Hughes, BJ Penn, Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture and many more legends to come.

How is Joe Rogan able to make more than half a million just as a UFC commentator?
When the UFC was brought by Zuffa Entertainment in 2001, Rogan signed a deal with the UFC for which he worked for the company as a commentator for the first 15 shows for free! Rogan narrates the anecdote time and again and says he was fine with it then, but the UFC started paying him afterwards. Rogan’s latest commentary work was at UFC 279, headlined by welterweights Tony Ferguson and Nate Diaz with Khamzat Chimaev and Kevin Holland fighting in the co-main slot.
There’s still no concrete evidence to Rogan’s pay structure dials down exactly on UFC’s entry books, but as per Way Of Martial Arts, a famous combat sports news and information source, Rogan makes $50,000 per show, which means $550,000-600,000 per year.
What do you make of this number? Where do you put Joe Rogan amongst the most notable figures in MMA History? Where do you put Rogan amongst the greatest non-fighting pioneers of the sport? How long do you predict Rogan will continue to comment and interview for the UFC? Do you think of any other personality in MMA that is similar to Rogan? Where do you see the growth of the UFC in the next 5 years? Do you think the UFC is the biggest platform for MMA fighters even today? It will be interesting to see how other promotions like Bellator MMA and ONE Championship will close their gap in competition with the UFC in the coming years.
