Georges St-Pierre is a Canadian actor and former professional mixed martial artist. He is frequently called the best fighter in the annals of mixed martial arts (MMA). St-Pierre held championships in the welterweight and middleweight weight classes in the UFC.
St-Pierre is a three-time former UFC Welterweight Champion who retired as the reigning Welterweight Champion. So naturally, Joe Rogan was surprised when Pierre said that strength and conditioning exercises had no use inside the octagon.
To Pierre, fighting is about efficiency. He shares his story of a completely out-of-shape Muay Thai fighter who led an unhealthy lifestyle and would demolish them during sparring. Pierre said he doesn’t lift weights to pack on more muscle to be able to hit harder. He does it purely for aesthetics.
Even though his opinion is the opposite of 99% of mixed martial artists, his perspective can’t be disregarded because, during his nine straight title defenses, he held the record for most victories in title fights and the second-longest combined title streak in UFC history (2,204 days).

Georges St Pierre might have made a comeback for Khabib Nurmagomedov
A multi-division champion for the fourth time in UFC history, he returned to the Octagon in November 2017 at UFC 217. He beat Michael Bisping by submission to claim the Middleweight title. In 2021, at the Joe Rogan podcast, Rogan and Pierre discussed Khabib, fighting stances, and GSP’s potential return to the UFC.
Georges St-Pierre’s record stands at 26-2-0. Pierre compliments Khabib and talks about what it would take for him to return to the UFC. He is a master in multiple disciplines including the 3rd dan black belt in Kyokushin Karate, a 1st-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and a black belt in Gaidojutsu among many others.
As of now, a potential fight between the two seems highly unlikely. Both have retired from the UFC and decided it would be a permanent retirement but never say never.
