Rising Irish prospect Ian Garry finally got his wish to fight UFC veteran Neil Magny. Garry called out Magny multiple times in the past and also caught his attention many times. After his previous opponent, Geoff Neal pulled out from the fight, Garry wished to get Magny as a replacement. Garry announced Magny as his new opponent on Twitter.
He posted a trailer of his training for the fight while adding snippets from his callout for Magny in between. Garry has long awaited the match and will continue training for the fight. He also captioned the video by writing, “I always get what I want,” hinting at his callout of Magny. Garry also claimed that he would like to test himself against the gatekeeper of the welterweight division.
Garry remained undefeated after defeating Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Charlotte with a head kick that impressed many fans. Magny also gave his thoughts on the call out by Garry. He said, “This little Irish kid is calling me out, Ian whatever his name is, he’s been real chippy and called out the wrong Neil, and if I get a chance I would like to run it later this year”.
The fight between Garry and Magny is expected to be a close one. Garry will be the betting favorite, whereas Magny is the more experienced fighter. Magny will look forward to adding a name to his lengthy resume. Magny will look to utilize his wrestling against Garry in the upcoming bout. No fighter has yet to wrestle Garry in the UFC. Hence, fans will look forward to seeing Garry showcase his grappling defense and maintain his undefeated record.
Ian Garry reacts to Geoff Neal pulling out

Garry was set to fight Geoff Neal, but to his disappointment, his opponent pulled out. Garry got to know about the situation while he was driving somewhere and got a call from his manager. His manager said he got a call from UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby who informed him about the unfortunate news. Garry looked disappointed but still hoped to get another opponent for the fight.
Garry started thinking deeply about Neal pulling out and had strong words for his former opponent. He said, “Okay, we know the f*cking truth. Okay, the moment you said that you sent that message, I knew it. Geoff Neal is a b*tch. What is god showing me right now? That’s what I’m trying to work out in my mind right now.” Garry also pondered if that was the reason a fight against Magny materialized.
Garry is well-known for his striking ability as well as his smooth boxing. He is also an excellent grappler and judo black belt. He is regarded as one of the UFC’s most promising young fighters in the welterweight division. Fans will look forward to seeing him return against Magny.
