Ian Garry will face Geoff Neal at UFC 298. Ahead of the fight, he called out another UFC star, Khamzat Chimaev. ‘Borz’ is currently fighting in the middleweight division, focused on UFC gold. As such, a callout from ‘The Future’ surprised everyone, considering he fought in the welterweight division. However, Garry looked supremely confident in beating Chimaev and even questioned his fighting skills.

In a recent interview, Ian Garry addressed Khamzat Chimaev as the baddest man and said he wanted to beat him to earn the name for himself. Here is what he said:

Whats he gonna do? Take me down? great bring it on, lets go, bring it on, let’s go. Dude, so am I, I’m bigger than he’s, I’m 6’3″, I’m taller, longer, faster than he is. Amazing wrestling, he gets tired though, he gets tired pretty quick, I don’t. The truth is, so what if he takes me down, I’d elbow the skull off of him

Also, in the interview, Ian Garry said he wanted to face Khamzat Chimaev in Ireland at his dream venue, 3 Arena in Dublin. However, the possibility of a fight between them was unlikely, considering both men fought at different weight classes and had title aspirations. If the UFC puts forward this matchup, it would be one of the biggest fights, considering both fighters were undefeated and rising UFC stars.

Khamzat Chimaev only recently moved up to middleweight after being unable to cut to 170lbs. As such, he won a fight at 185lbs and looked forward to competing for the title soon. As for Ian Garry, he is taking on #7-ranked Geoff Neal this weekend in UFC 298.

Ian Garry doesn’t regret making T-shirts with Geoff Neal’s mugshot

Goff Neal and Ian Garry were to fight in UFC 292. With ‘The Future’ constantly taunting Neal, bad blood started boiling. As such, it went to a whole new level when Garry made a T-shirt with Geoff Neal’s mugshot. It soon became one of the most talked about topics among MMA fans. However, the fight was canceled after ‘Handz of Steel’ pulled out from the fight for medical reasons. Now, when asked about the instance, Garry showed no regret.

In an interview with Daniel Cormier, Ian Garry stated Geoff Neal brought no traction to their fight and that he had to do something. He even claimed that although Neal was a ‘phenomenal’ fighter, he didn’t get much attention online. So, he said the mugshot T-shirt was done as a marketing antic to sell the fight. As such, ‘The Future’ stood firm. That instance brought a lot of eyes and became the most interesting thing about Neal.

Finally, Ian Garry and Geoff Neal face off this weekend at UFC 298. Ahead of the matchup, they’ve set aside their past beef and looked to put on a show for the fans. As such, they clash heads in a three-round welterweight bout at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
