UFC fighter Ian Garry is set to go up against fellow welterweight Neil Magny at UFC 292. The Irish fighter seems confident leading up to the fight and is on his way to becoming an upcoming superstar in the UFC. Just a night before his fight, Garry held an open workout at an Irish bar in Boston.
In the video surfacing online, Garry showed off his skills around the Irish crowd. His pad work seemed impressive and gave a hint of what could be in the stores for the Magny fight. His Irish compatriot and UFC superstar Conor McGregor did something similar in 2015. McGregor fought Dennis Siver in Boston.
Both superstars share a magnetic personality with a pinch of Irish satire in them. Garry has always displayed his loud persona and never shied away from stating his opinions. An attitude like this has made him stand out in the list of welterweights. Likewise, McGregor never shied away from stating his opinions, and the fans in the early 2010s found it as a breath of fresh air. The world lined up to watch him achieve glory and could repeat the same motion for Ian Garry.
Conor has always shown support to his fellow Irishman. The support from a star like him could do wonders in an upcoming fighter’s mindset. Lastly, the No. 13 ranked contender has huge shoes to fill if he ever aims to walk in the path of Conor McGregor. The journey to superstar status could start this weekend if Garry decimates Magny as he claimed.
Ian Garry promises to annihilate Neil Magny
Rising UFC star Ian Garry plans to make a statement against his opponent Neil Magny at UFC 292. Further, Garry has been loud about his opinions and has also asserted that he is the one who’s carrying the PPV event.
The Irishman has called Magny’s UFC record boring and has taken multiple digs at the No.11 ranked welterweight contender. In his callout interview, Garry called Magny a gatekeeper for the top 10 and promised to annihilate him to enter the top 10 rankings.
Garry’s promotion tricks have involved trash-talking in interviews and press conferences. Additionally, Garry’s comments on Magny’s children have resulted in a lot of bad blood between the fighters. Will Ian Garry be able to live up to the claims he made about the fight, or will Magny end the Irish hype train? Tune in at UFC 292 to find out.
