Ian Garry is an exciting UFC prospect who fights in the welterweight division. The 25-year-old has used his efficient striking skills to climb the rankings in the welterweight division. UFC 292 will be Ian Garry’s big day as he plans to enter the welterweight top 10 by defeating Neil Magny. In the UFC 292 press conference, a reporter asked Ian Garry about his predictions for the welterweight fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington.

Garry didn’t hold back on his fight predictions. He let the world know about his opinion on fellow welterweight fighter Colby Covington. Garry answered about the matchup, “I think Leon absolutely smashes him. Colby gets a lot of hype for nothing. The biggest thing Colby has achieved is to lose against Kamaru Usman twice. And the other hand, Leon defeated Usman twice. I think Leon will absolutely dominate Colby. He’ll run through him.”

Many fighters have gone off on Covington by accusing him of “Dana White’s privilege.” Despite his losses against Usman, Covington still has a dominant wrestling style to defeat most fighters. Garry is the No.13 ranked welterweight contender. His Irish natives and explosive fighting style have bought a large chunk of a spotlight on him. Garry is known to be vocal about his opinions, like his fellow Irishman Conor McGregor.

At UFC 292, Garry will aim to achieve dominance against Magny if he wants to fight top-ranked contenders to land the title shot. Neil Magny, who is ranked No. 11 in the division, will not be a walkover as the fighter has more experience than Garry.

UFC 292 is surrounded by talks about Aljamain Sterling vs. Sean O’Malley, but fight fans cannot make an error by overlooking the welterweight matchup on the main card. Ian Garry will fight Neil Magny on the main card of UFC 292.

After previous contender Geoff Neal dropped out of the fight against Garry due to an injury, Magny stepped in as a replacement for this event. Magny has been fighting the toughest guys from the welterweight roster. Magny holds a record of 28-11, with seven knockouts and four submissions victories. This massive experience can be a huge advantage for Magny in his bout against Garry. And Garry, conversely, is coming from a ton of hype due to his past performances. His striking ability remains the most exciting one in the welterweight division.

Further, Garry is the only other Irishman who has been able to catch the spotlight other than “The Notorious” Conor McGregor. To live up to the Irish standards that McGregor has set, Garry will have to win this fight. In short, this matchup has the potential to be as entertaining as the main event fight.
