Ian Machado Garry‘s supposed podcast appearance turned into Rampage Jackson’s gripe session. The welterweight standout was set to appear on the JAXXON podcast. Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson co-hosts the podcast with Bear Degidio. Garry is reeling from personal attacks against his wife, which he let in on recently.
Garry’s wife, Layla Anna-Lee, has caught unnecessary flak from fighters like Sean Strickland, Colby Covington, and Kevin Holland, to name a few. Rampage Jackson recently went on the MMA Hour and spoke about Garry turning down an appearance on his podcast. On top of that, Rampage also enquired about Garry’s wife and the c**k reference. This made Ian Garry mad. This is how he responded:
Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson went on [The MMA Hour] last night and spoke about how I turned down his podcast, because I was afraid of being made fun of....... I’m on his podcast, and he goes on, and calls me a cu*k. ‘Ian the cu*k’ – he didn’t even know my name, and he’s like asking Ariel, ‘Does his wife really have a boyfriend?’ No, you thick c**t... No, because you’re believing absolute bollocks and lies from other people. Imagine running a podcast and not knowing who your next guest was. Imagine being that fu**ing stupid...Ian Garry via social media
Some would say Ian Garry went scorched earth on Rampage Jackson. Calling Garry “Ian the Cu*k,” Jackson had asked Ariel Helwani if several claims about Garry and his family were true. The MMA journalist corrected him by saying that they held no merit whatsoever. However, Garry caught wind and refuted Rampage Jackson’s podcast invite.
Ian Garry was set to face Vicente Luque at UFC 296, but pneumonia forced him out of the event. He will now take on Geoff Neal in a much-anticipated grudge match at UFC 298. Jackson, meanwhile, faces heavyweight KO artist Shannon Briggs in his pro-boxing debut on June 1 in Qatar. It looks like Rampage did not take offense to what Garry said.
Quinton Jackson apologizes for name-calling welterweight Ian Garry
Ian Garry recently slammed Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson for fouling out his name with an unsavory moniker. Speaking at The MMA Hour, Jackson had termed him “Ian the Cu*k. Fans and some fighters address Garry by this name these days. Garry has caught much flack for self-promotional tendencies and interpersonal disputes in recent times. His association with his 40-year-old wife’s previous partner did not curry him favors, thus earning him the name.
Concurrently, Garry took notice and ripped the veteran for his choice of wording. However, Jackson later took to social media to say this –
I do feel bad, because he doesn’t know me, he never met me.... He doesn’t know my personality, doesn’t know that I’m just joking. But it’s all love, y’all. I love all y’all. Mad respect that gets out there and fights. I’ve got respect and love for everybody but Shannon Briggs. F*ck that motherf**ker, that chockadee-looking walrus motherf**ker...Rampage Jackson via X
Jackson later filmed his video on X, saying he regretted the Garry mix-up and that his comments were made jokingly. The ex-champ also had some words of wisdom for his upcoming boxing opponent, longtime expectant rival Shannon Briggs. However, this should be taken with a grain of salt, as the duo has been hilariously trolling each other ahead of the anticipated bout.
