After consecutive victories over Bryce Mitchell and Josh Emmett, unbeaten Ilia Topuria has looked dominant in the Octagon to date. He faces featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski next in the UFC 298 headliner. This takes place on Feb. 17 at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. In a recent sitdown with ‘KOlmenero‘, the fighter fired back at Yair Rodriguez’s comments on the Spanish 145lber. Now, Conor McGregor has got into that conversation.

Topuria, recently doused fighting words at Volkanovski, sending a scary warning to the reigning champion. He had even nudged before that five-time defending champion Volkanovski would be one of the easiest fights of his career. Thus, he is ready for all challenges and upholds his steadfast demeanor. Speaking on the segment, here’s what he said on the Dubliner –

Conor McGregor is a superstar, obviously...if he wins again...then fighting him would be good...'At what weight?'...I wouldn't care...'And the prediction?'...Please, any round.

McGregor is a former 2-division titleholder, at featherweight and lightweight. Holding steady as a PPV king, UFC listings have some of McGregor’s bouts as the top 10 PPV buyouts. ‘The Notorious’ held a double spot as one of the most epic UFC PPVs of 2021.

Hence, it is no surprise that Conor McGregor is still such a draw, even away from fighting status. The fighter supposedly (not confirmed) returns to action at UFC 302, at UFC’s International Fight Week in June. Accordingly, Topuria is ready for him. However, the Spaniard does not share the same sentiment for everyone.

Ilia Topuria snubs chances of action against bantamweight Sean O’Malley

Bantamweight Sean O’Malley is to make his maiden defense at UFC 299 soon. However, ‘Suga’ has let his 2-division glory aspiration run wild and land on Ilia Topuria; featherweight’s top current contender. Recently the 135lber vowed to be able to beat Topuria like Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor.

Champion Alexander Volkanovski has lauded O’Malley’s ‘smart’ tactic for handpicking Ilia Topuria over him. But, on his dreams of reaching McGregor-level fandoms, the fighter had received some jibes from Topuria on coming off as a fanboy.

Additionally, he isn’t set on O’Malley’s proclaimed star power yet. At the latest sitdown with ‘KOlmenero,‘ he mentioned he isn’t willing for the alleged superstar to grow his resume at his expense. Check out his full comments in the video below:

Topuria fights at UFC 298; ‘Suga’ fights at UFC 299 right after. Given that they both win, O’Malley has wished upon a match against him at the $2.3 Billion Sphere, Las Vegas.

However, unlike a name like McGregor whom Topuria looks forward to meeting at any class weight, O’Malley has been snubbed from the subsequent list.
