Colby Covington is all set to walk out with a special flag to show his support to the Miami Beach police department at the main event of UFC 272 against his friend turned foe Jorge Masvidal.

The stage is set for one of the biggest grudge fights in the modern history of UFC. Covington will take on Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272 on March 6 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. Covington has always been a true American and has used the UFC platform to promote hard-working citizens. The fighter has spoken about why he fights and what he represents.

Covington has a lot of respect for people who protect Americans like law enforcement, military, first responders, etc. Throughout his professional career, Covington has been part of various initiatives that help in promoting, Inspiring, and supporting these hardworking people. 

The fighter always carries the flag of the United States of America on his back when he makes his walkouts during the fights. During his fight with welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 268, Covington used ‘Medal’ by Jim Johnston as his walkout song. This song is used by legendary wrestler Kurt Angle and was loved by many fans.

In the UFC 272 Countdown: Full Episode, Covington revealed his plans on using a new flag in order to show respect to the police department. Covington is from Miami, Florida, and is now ready to carry The Pride of Miami on his back. 

One of Covington’s friends in the Miami police department organized a meeting with the Canine unit, swat unit, etc. During the meet, the fighter spent some time with them and took part in some of the tasks. After that, the police department as a token of gratitude gave Covington an American flag with signatures.

“We got us some signatures of all the Miami Beach police departments. The SWAT, the canine unit, the motor unit. This is going to be the flag that I walk out to the octagon with. Imma fight hard for them and make sure that they’re inspired as much as they inspire me,” said Covington. Whether Colby will walk out with that signed flag or not we can only know at UFC 272.
