Conor McGregor has long surpassed the boundaries of the UFC octagon. McGregor’s status as a celebrity is well-known. This remains no surprise as the Irishman has a reputation as the most bankable star in UFC history. Recently, McGregor congratulated rapper Nicki Minaj on her new feature in the Call of Duty game. Fans took a vested interest after witnessing the Irishman with Saweetie, weeks ago.
Regarding the new addition of Minaj to the COD franchise, McGregor wrote, “Iconic! Well done @CallofDuty and @NickiMinaj Incredible!“. The rapper is the first self-named female operator in the COD franchise. Minaj is a ten-time Grammy-nominated rapper who contributed immensely to Western music culture. McGregor’s praise of Minaj is a show of friendship, which also reflects the reach of his stardom.
Conor McGregor has remained a part of media attention since achieving a superstar status. His fighting skills and trash-talking have put him on a level way above the normal fighter. “The Notorious” and his iconic moments will forever remain in the minds of the fight fans. McGregor’s infamous reputation was highlighted in two documentaries, Conor McGregor: Notorious and McGregor Forever.
He appeared in the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. He coached against Michael Chandler, and the duo will fight each other in the near future. If everything goes according to plan, they will fight in December.
Will Conor McGregor ever make a comeback?
Conor McGregor captured the attention of the MMA community since his debut in the UFC. His achievements in the UFC remain proof of his quality as a fighter. Today, McGregor’s reputation as a feared fighter has been replaced with that of an entertainer and a businessman. He has become a different fighter after amassing millions of dollars after the Floyd Mayweather fight.
Many believe his luxurious lifestyle has erased his motive for fighting anymore. After his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, he won a bout against Donald Cerrone but went on to lose two fights against Dustin Poirier in 2021. His presence at the moment remains as a controversial figure rather than an incredible fighter.
As of now, McGregor just completed another season as a coach in The Ultimate Fighter. Chandler had the better coaching compared to McGregor. The two coaches are set to fight by the end of this year. McGregor has not stepped into the octagon since 2021, whereas Chandler has performed consistently. McGregor must prioritize his comeback over anything else if he hopes to win a UFC gold again.
