Islam Makhachev doesn’t play around when it comes to making bets and recently he made it clear with Usman Nurmagomedov. After Khabib Nurmagomedov’s retirement, his team had some amazing talents who got the opportunity to shine. Makhachev and Usman Nurmagomedov can be considered the best talents from Team Khabib. While Makhachev carried Khabib’s legacy to become the reigning UFC lightweight champion, Usman did the same in Bellator FC.

Both fighters are top athletes and a big reason for their success is their brotherhood and the community in which they train and push each other. However, as expected, other than training, the Dagestani fighters often take part in banter, and recently, a video went viral about Usman losing a bet against Makhachev.

In the video, Usman can be heard asking the UFC champion to aim for the dustbin with his empty cup. He said, “You are not going to hit it, brother. If you hit it, I’ll do 40-push-ups.”

Makhachev surprisingly successfully out the cup inside the dustbin and won the bet and this led Usman to do 40 push-ups in the parking lot. “Who said Usman is lazy. Look at him. Not only on his phone all day. He also does push-ups on the streets,” Makhachev said in a sarcastic tone.

Despite not being biologically related to each other, Makhachev and Usman have shared a close bond for many years, having trained extensively together and formed a deep friendship. It is common to see both fighters having some fun ahead of their respective next challenges.

Mendez suggested that in the welterweight division, Colby Covington would be the best pick for the fight. However, before that, Makhachev should be fighting Alexander Volkanovski in order to give a better performance and win in a dominant fashion, unlike the last time.
