The California State Atheltic Commission recently suspended Usman Nurmagomedov. The commission suspended the Bellator lightweight champion for failing to apply for TUE for using a prescribed drug. Usman Nurmagomedov is the cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov, and the news painted the Nurmagomedov in a bad light. Dillon Danis, a friend of Conor McGregor, now used the opportunity to bash Islam Makhachev in a bad light.

In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, Dillon Danis accused Islam Makhachev of being a steroid user. Conor McGregor had already bashed the entire Dagestan crew as PED users when the news of Usman Nurmagomedov’s suspension broke out. This is not the first time that Makhachev was accused of using Steroids. Bobby Green, who fought Makhachev, was very vocal with allegations on Makhachev.

The steroid accusations by Dillon Danis paint light on the never-ending rivalry of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. Nurmagomedov fought McGregor at UFC 229. However, the event is infamous for the post-fight brawl between the two teams. Nurmagomedov jumped out of the octagon to confront Danis. Furthermore, his teammates ran into the octagon to attack McGregor.

The UFC was plagued with PED users before the UFC joined hands with the USADA. The partnership with USADA was instrumental in removing PED users from the UFC. However, many elite athletes were tested positive by USADA. Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, and T.J. Dillashaw are well-known athletes who tested positive by USADA.

Islam Makhachev and Conor McGregor to have their respective fights in the summer of 2024

Islam Makhachev and Conor McGregor were presumed to have their respective fights in early 2024. Makhechev and Charles Oliveira were rumored to fight at UFC 297. However, Dana White broke the news that the promotion wants to book the fight in the summer of 2024. Oliveira was set to fight Makhachev at UFC 294 but was replaced by Alexander Volkanovski.

Conor McGregor has not fought since UFC 264. He was out of the USADA testing pool and entered the pool recently. His timeline coincided with UFC 300 in April. Many speculated that McGregor would be fighting Michael Chandler at UFC 300. However, in a recent interview, McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, hinted that they were looking for a return in the Summer.

McGregor is the biggest superstar of the UFC. On the other hand, Islam Makhachev is the pound-for-pound king. Daniel Cormier recently proposed a dream fight between Makhachev and McGregor. However, it was not met with a positive response as McGregor is on a losing streak, and Makhachev is on a huge wins streak.
